There’s not much that could better describe Rachel and Trevor’s wedding day than beautiful and meaningful. Right off the bat they start the day in a meaningful way by getting ready in Rachel’s old school house, which has been converted into a charming Bed & Breakfast (The Davie School Inn), and the very room Rachel got ready in was her actually her old Kindergarten classroom.

After a beautiful ceremony, they headed out to Rachel’s parent’s home, which happens to be atop a hill, overlooking a valley in the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. The view was breath-taking, and the reception was lovely! We hope you enjoy these images we captured from this exceptionally beautiful day!

Not only was the band at the reception awesome, they had a pretty great guest drummer as well. . .

We were so happy to be able to spend some time shooting with Caitlin and Andrew last weekend. They were the winners from the recent Derren Raser Photography giveaway with Simply & Forever (please stop on by the Simply & Forever blog to read Caitlin & Andrew’s winning story). They were so much fun to work with, and, as you can see, they have a playful affection for each other that comes through in every shot. They also brought along their new son Aaron so he could also participate in a few shots. We hope you enjoy these moments that we captured!

Such a lovely family!

Our recent St. Louis engagement shoot with Rachel & Trevor was featured today on the awesome Midwest-based wedding blog Landlocked Bride!! Click on the image below, stop by and take a look!

Lisa and I drove through much of Forest Park in St. Louis for the first time last weekend, and were struck with the beauty of this outdoor space. It’s been warm for several weeks now in this part of the country and everything is blooming and green.

We met Rachel and Trevor in front of the St. Louis Art Museum, it was a beautiful day, and we could tell as soon as we saw them approaching that they were very relaxed and natural around one another. Throughout the course of our shoot it was easy to see not only how much they enjoy being together, but also how much they trust and appreciate each other.

We also visited the Grand Center area for a few shots, and had so much fun with Rachel and Trevor. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this summer. Here are some of the moments we captured from this beautiful day.

Here’s a preview of a really fun engagement shoot we did in St. Louis this past weekend. The full-post will be up on Monday. Enjoy, and be sure to stop back by!
