We love it when a couple has a creative vision for their shoot, and we had such a fun time helping Brittany and Travis capture theirs. They suggested we meet at a well-known local lake named Devil’s Kitchen, which was absolutely beautiful in the soft Fall light of the afternoon. They came prepared with everything from kindling for a campfire, to home-made roasting sticks, and all the fixings for scrumptious s’mores.

Brittany and Travis were so at ease all day, and it was so awesome to see their very evident fun-loving enjoyment of each other throughout the entire shoot. We had a great time hanging out, and can’t wait to shoot their wedding. Enjoy these moments–warning–you may be tempted to go kindle a campfire of your own. . .

Fall is our favorite time of year, and we were so excited to be shooting Sonja and Jake’s wedding, in October, and out of doors. The wedding took place on a plot of land that Sonja and Jake recently purchased on the Lake of Egypt in Southern Illinois, on the spot that they someday hope to make/build their home. Jake, Sonja, and their friends actually had to create a clearing in the woods next to the lake by chopping down a number of large trees, and stacking the resulting logs into piles around the wedding site–which we think really takes the amount of work exerted to secure a wedding venue to the next level!

Sonja and Jake’s sweetness and easy going attitude made it so much fun to work with them, and we can’t imagine a more beautiful setting, or wonderful day to have been a part of. Thanks! Enjoy.

This veil was also worn by Sonja’s mother at her wedding.

Chairs, hand-crafted by the groom himself!

We met Casie and Joseph downtown St. Louis in an area known as Grand Center. We’ve shot in and around this space before, but the area never ceases to help show us new ways of looking at things. As we were shooting, on a whim, we decided to duck into a really fun-looking City Diner on the corner. Something about Casie and Joseph’s wonderfully transparent affection and classy style seemed to somehow fit perfectly with the vintage theme of the space!

After our fun downtown, we met up with Ike, their easy-going labrador, for a few shots at beautiful Tower Grove park. We had a great time getting creative, observing this couple’s infectious love for each other, and capturing some really beautiful moments. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding! Enjoy!

This is going to be one happy family!

We love it when we get to take part in a day as beautiful as Kate and Pete’s. We also love it when we get to capture details from the day that the bride has created herself! Not only did Kate create her own veil, the awesomeness of which you will see below, but also fabric bouquets for all of her bridesmaids, as well as beautiful neclaces that she made by hand and gave as bridesmaids gifts! If you love these details, like we did, head over to Kate’s Etsy Shop, where you might find one of her handmade creations that’s right for you.

Kate and Pete were not only creative, but also easy going and so much fun! We had such a great time being a part of their day, and capturing these moments and details. We hope you enjoy them too!

Kate also made all of the bridesmaids’ bouquets, which were awesome!

Here’s one of the beautiful necklaces that Kate made for her bridesmaids.

Congratulations Kate & Pete!! Thanks so much for letting us share such a special day with you guys.
